I'm sure Uber could have afforded a nice backhander to keep the license, if they lost the license, they lost it willingly, it was a planned business decision no doubt about it.

They are appealing. How does that fit into your theory?

There are "rules" and there are "rules", like it or not a lot of business happens with parties handing out fat brown envelopes on the Golf course.

Do you know this from personal experience? Or someone down the pub? Or perhaps some conspiracy theory website?

Even if it's true, it seems Uber weren't playing that game.
  • Thanks to all the Band Wagon brigade for putting Uber in 1 big pot along side I had a bad McDonald's so now use Burger King etc etc

Yes I'm a Uber Driver but at 46 and with a full clean licence, police CRB check and 5 yearly health & drug test (all at cost to my self employed status) feel entitled to post this.

I've been cab driving 18 yrs in my city so my (knowledge) is pretty good but knowledge doesn't mean I always go a certain route cos the shortest route could be the main route i.e. more traffic but not quicker so if the customer is in a rush they may want to catch THAT train not save £1.

Basically it's called doing a job and luckily I also have been giving the ability to use common sense (conversation) and check with my current using fare to resolve the issues during unusual or heavy traffic.

For every person who knocks Uber may I ask do trains planes or ferries run smoothly or is it only us using the same routes and roads as all traffic that are to blame cos I'm sure most like myself as a tax paying private hire taxi driver just want to support my family or is that wrong ?

TFL London are superb but pls don't pretend every BLACK CAB driver is a reprentative of the industry same as I don't believe every person believes UBER are lowering the industry in London or any City.

Thanks for allowing me my 50000 words, be grateful u ain't in my cab I don't stop chatting lol
