Dimming rear view mirror
I was driving up the M3 in congested conditions last night doing about 50-60mph towards London in the right hand lane. Stuck behind me for many miles was one of those Audis with FU headlights (the ones that are a different colour to normal headlights (LED?) and piercing and distracting). This was very annoying so in…

SORN at wrong address.....
Hi there, wondering if anyone can put my mind at rest..... Received a letter the other day (Acknowledgement of SORN) - addressed to my address, not to me but to someone I know (friend of a relative....) Hope that makes sense. Anyway, this person used to run a business from my next door neighbours property, but moved about…

parked car pulled in front of me from the opposite site of the road
Absolutely rdiculous, was a small residential road, oncoming car gave way to me because the road was so small that he waited at the other side while I pass safely. parked car was on the other side of the road, and was facing the same direction as me. Driver of parked car takes cue from the stopped car and assumes stopped…

Need a motorbike expert fairly asap - TS100
My beloved Suzuki TS100 is basically a lump of rust due to my Dad not being able to travel and help me restore it now :( I have had some interest over the years but have refused to sell it due to my Dad, but as that is now never likely to happen I guess I finally have to part with my first ever roadbike (massive sulk lol).…

Help Getting Money Back
Hi there, Just recently I booked and parked with a website for parking. If you google "Wembley Stadium Car Park" they come up on the advertisements bit right at the top. Not sure if we can name and shame here or link, but basically they are the ones with the name of an insect that can sting you (how fitting!). So as you…

Forced to accept 50/50 liability???
Firstly I'm really sorry if this has been covered before but I need some advice. In April this year I was driving at a very slow speed when a car, parked on double yellow lines, opened its door into my path causing damage to the side of my car. The driver was very apologetic and couldn't have been nicer and more sorry. At…

filtering, right or wrong?

I know that I have to stop behind the first vehicle. A car pulled out through a gap in the queue from a nearby school - my obs were obvs crappy at that point - if we had…

Best family cars models under 1000 out there
Hi all, My old and reliable Ford Focus was written off by the insurer, as it costs more to repair than the value. They offered 750 for the car (a fair value) and I can add another 250 on top of that. For a family car, for that price, what cars/models within that sort of budget would you recommend? One of the candidates is…

Selling my car (no insurance, no tax, battery dead)
Hi there, just looking for a bit of advice! I am looking to get rid of my Fiat Punto. I bought it second hand in Manchester in July 2011 for about £930. However, six months ago I moved down to London and I no longer need to use my car down here. When I first got to London I cancelled my insurance and obtained a partial…

how to get value of an old mini?
We have a very old mini, 1987. Its been sat for a good long time, and needs a lot of bodywork doing. Quite by chance, we have found someone who is very interested in buying it, and restoring it, and has asked us how much we want for it. But we have absolutely no idea what it is worth in its current condition! Does anyone…

It only locks the same when I tried to lock the car with the key in the lock. I have checked the door (pillar) for broken wires as i had to fix the…

Renault Clio crankshaft sensor - the straw that broke the camel's back?!
My 53 reg renault clio mark II conked out today less than 50 yards from my front door. RAC man said the crankshaft sensor was the cause, he cleaned it and car is working, but he advised it needs to go to a garage for replacement of the part. My problem now is this is the latest in 3 problems with this car this year. I'm…

Autotek Legit?
Hi, I was looking around for a new used car, and came across a number of adverts on Autotrader from a company called Autotek. However the adverts seem to good to be true! Such as a 58reg Mercedes-Benz C class for £3,200! There are a number of these adverts by the same company, and what also looks odd is that each advert…

That Focus heater control problem again !
Managed to get the radio out, and the hot/cold control is connected to the control unit by a 3 inch metal wire that has a loop on it. Thought it was just a case of putting it back on-but won't stay on. Anyone know how it stays on, or if wire follows a certain route.tried googling...but just get loads of american sites-…
