how to get value of an old mini?
Options
We have a very old mini, 1987. Its been sat for a good long time, and needs a lot of bodywork doing. Quite by chance, we have found someone who is very interested in buying it, and restoring it, and has asked us how much we want for it. But we have absolutely no idea what it is worth in its current condition!
Does anyone know of any websites or somewhere we can get an idea of valuation? I cant believe it would be anything more that a couple of hundred, but I just want some kind of idea!
Many thanks

There is a magazine called miniworld its website doesnt have classifieds, but i know there magazine used to. Might be worth either buying a copy or reading the classifieds in wh smiths to see if theres anything to compare with yours.0

You are right.
It's worth a couple of hundred quid maximum.
You're lucky you're not having to pay someone to collect it."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -

Couple of hundred?
I want one in that state.
I'll have it and your arm with it for that, and be there today.
Have a look on ebay, anything up to £500, for a complete scrapper.0 -
Just remembered this & thought I would update...
Put it on ebay starting at 450 - it went for 1200. Lovely!0 -

Result!
They are horror stories to restore. All the parts are avail but theres nothing easy about working at them.
I bought a 1992 Cooper a few years ago which was 'solid' and being used daily.
Spent £2000 on just the bodywork / chromework and wheels, and that wasnt even touching the engine...
Had a wail of a time with it though.0 -
Wow, she is gorgeous!0

You know, this is the ONLY reason I don't want another (proper) Mini - I can't afford one anymore0
