VW Sharan Central Locking Problem

Options
Hi

I have search this forum but to no joy.

My central locking is not working on my 2005 Sharan. When i press the remote key it only locks the drivers door, petrol cap and boot. It only locks the same when I tried to lock the car with the key in the lock.

I have checked the door (pillar) for broken wires as i had to fix the electric windows cable a while ago. I have checked the fuses, changed the battery in the key and tried to lock the car from the boot but still the same.

I have been reading that it could be a part inside the drivers door, broken wires at the passenger side (which i havent checked) or the CPU under the passengers footwell which is bone dry??

Anyone any ideas?

Thanks

I had similar problem on friends car, now fixed.

In my case it was broken wires between pass door and frame.

Pull out rubber protective sleeve and check wires.

I have checked the wires an a few have broke but how did you fix them?

Very hard to get at them as the rubber is in the way. What colour were the central locking wires?

If possible push rubber into frame to allow access to wires.
I fixed using small electrical connectors if wires could meet.
If not add a small length of wire in and connect.
Connect all same colours and pull rubber back after checking operation.
