What is a fair price?
Hi! I have an 06 VW Polo 1.4D; the warning light came on yesterday to say I need new front brake pads. Until now, I've had it serviced at a main dealer, but I really can't see the point in that for a set of brake pads. What sort of price should I expect for a new set and all the associated work? Thank you!

What car?
Our car has been written off. We are getting for it, the grand total of £1500, minus the £250 excess. So. There are six of us, and whilst I would love an MPV, I don't think we can afford it right now. We do however, need some form of car for my husbands work....so here's where any car buffs come in. What we need? Something…

Cheap(er) Train Season Ticket from Crewe to Bham
Hello, I have been looking to reduce my annual season ticket for commuting from Crewe to Birmingham as I'm 18 so £2,936.00pa is a lot for me. I catch the 7.23am train from Crewe to Birmingham and usually the 4.21pm or 5.21pm train from Birmingham to Crewe. The trains call at Crewe, Stafford, Penkridge, Wolverhampton and…

New Vs Old...?
Bit of a debate I've been having with come colleagues here... I'm now on my 4th car, which is fairly new (comparatively to what I had before) and IMO it has worked out financially better for me to buy a newer car and save on fuel, repairs & tax than run my old bangers I used to have. My mates disagree and think mid-90s…

speed camera ticket
Hi all, I was going through Telford last Friday night on the B5061 and had to overtake a parked car on my side of the road. As I did so there was an almighty flash and a speed camera (which appeared to be a Gatso) which was facing me, on the other side of the road got me. I read a couple of threads on here that said that I…

Lease Car - Petrol v Diesel
My lease is up for renewal in a few months time. I`ve always driven diesels, but with the price difference between petrol and diesel, I`m tempted to go for a petrol engine. The life-span of the lease is three years and I drive approximately 18,000 miles. Current car is a Peugeot 307 Estate SW. Any advice??

Question re exhaust
I could hear a rattling noise (not an alarming one but it was bugging me) from the passenger side of the car and was told it sounded like the rubbers holding the exhaust needed replacing. That was without anyone looking under the car. Took it to my local tyre/exhaust centre who are quite helpful and don't fleece you. The…

Annual Service
Bought a new car last year in December - bargain! First registered 18th December 2007. Will it affect the "Book Price" if the service History shows the first Service as next January? A time issue rather than money. If I could have the service done in January rather than December it would be more convenient. Any one know?

Can I return a new car back to dealership
Hi can anyone help? I bought a used car from a well known used car place and went there today to sort out the paper work and to collect the car. I was under the impression that my finance was over 5 years but it's now only for 4 years as that's all the credit company can do. Obviously this has bumped up my monthly…
