Cheap(er) Train Season Ticket from Crewe to Bham

Hello,
I have been looking to reduce my annual season ticket for commuting from Crewe to Birmingham as I'm 18 so £2,936.00pa is a lot for me. I catch the 7.23am train from Crewe to Birmingham and usually the 4.21pm or 5.21pm train from Birmingham to Crewe. The trains call at Crewe, Stafford, Penkridge, Wolverhampton and Birmingham New Street.
The company I work for provides an interest free loan for travelling expenses so I can pay annually no problem. I have been reading but unfortunately have been unable to reduce the price. If anyone has any ideas to reduce this, please let me know as it'd be a great help.
Regards,
Scott

If you catch the 0710 from Crewe and have a 16-25 railcard the daily tickets are £13.05 off peak return. (This is only valid outward on Virgin in peak hours, not LM, so the next possible train is an hour later. Return is any train)
It looks a close run thing as to whether this is cheaper than the season - it depends how many days a year you don't travel.
I doubt if you will find any other alternative - season tickets are usually well priced compared with standard fares. I did try splitting the season at Wolverhampton - but it was more expensive0 -

That is fantastic. I actually stop at my girlfriends in Bham usually twice a week and we drive back to mine on Friday night & back to hers on Monday morning so I'll only need 2 tickets a week. £26 a week, £105 a month, down from £240ish per month when paid anually.
If you live nearby, let me know & I'll buy you a pint. Seriously.
Thank you! :beer:0
