Maternity mortgage issue
I'm currently in a 3 yr fixed rate mortgage with Platform. It has 2.5yrs left to run & will revert to a much higher tracker rate. We've recently had our first child and my preference is not to return to work. I earn 50% of our income and although we can afford the repayments with my partners salary alone a lender would not…

Would this be frowned upon? (offset mortgages)
Hi, I have an offset mortgage and have taken what I thought was a wise decision to take out a 2 year interest free credit card so that I can put all my purchases on this, then instead of paying it off I let the money sit in my offset account until it's time to pay off the card. However I read that with the stricter lending…

Nationwide full application pre approved by underwriters?
Hi all, I've just been told by my Nationwide mortgage advisor that our full mortgage application has been "pre approved" by their underwriters, which has allowed the valuation of the house we're buying to be instructed. I was wondering what this means exactly - what else do they have to look into at this point? & what have…

Anyone ever contested an endowment complaint offer?

Recommended top-up policy taken out in '99 (premiums >60% of originals!) after receiving red shortfall letter. Complaint deadline Nov '14, so discussed over…
