Nationwide full application pre approved by underwriters?

Hi all,
I've just been told by my Nationwide mortgage advisor that our full mortgage application has been "pre approved" by their underwriters, which has allowed the valuation of the house we're buying to be instructed.
I was wondering what this means exactly - what else do they have to look into at this point? & what have they done over and above the DiP to come to that decision?
Probably a silly question I know but curious about the process... not sure if it's to do with the fact we were referred despite having an excellent credit score and well within affordability - wondering if it was because I've only just started my new job...

I know it's a while since this was posted but wondered how you got on? I'm now in the exact position to this and am going outta my mind where I'm so impatient! I'm one of those annoying people that needs to know everything!!0

These txts also seem to arrive before their help number opens (last 2 have been 07:30) which is really good. Shows they arent just a monday-friday 9-5 service.
Been really impressed with nationwide so far0 -

Hi, still not sure what it meant exactly but we had a mortgage offer almost immediately after valuation - and we're moving in a week on Friday :-)0

That's great news Noctu!
We're also going through Nationwide; our valuation/survey was completed on Friday and we've received a text from Nationwide this morning to confirm they've received the valuation report and will be in touch in the next few days... hope we don't have too long to wait for our offer.. it's a nervous waiting game and we can't think about anything else!!
