I called to enquire about a Post Office mortgage and was told the interest rates will be increasing after midnight on Sunday. Is this a good rate or should we fix again?
Hi, Our fixed rate deal with the Halifax is coming to an end in September. The interest rate is 5.6%. It says in their letter that if we do nothing we will move onto their standard variable rate which is currently 3.5%. Obviously this is better, but I was wondering how it compares with the fixed rate deals that are out…

Abbey mortgage waiting time
Our buyer has been waiting almost 9 weeks for a decision for an Abbey mortgage. He has sent off quite a bit of documentation they have asked for. Are Abbey likely to string the process out to give a 'no' decision? Is 9 weeks a common waiting time? Time to find a new buyer? Thanks for any advice.

Remortgaging with a low LTV ?
Hi all, The end of my discount tracker (BoE - 0.06%) is sadly coming to an end soon ... but it was good while it lasted. Looking round the usual websites / banks / lenders and they all seem to be quoting for LTVs of 75% or 90% and the current deals are bit of an eye-opener (certainly compared to how much we're currently…

ISA offset mortgages
Hi. Hoping someone can help me. I am looking at remortgaging in the next 6 months or so, and my preference would be to go with an offset mortgage with the ability to offset cash ISAs (as over the last 10 years OH and I have managed to build up a fairly sizeable sum in our ISAs). This would allow us to keep our savings…

Do not want to spend more money chasing L&G in court. Any advise please?
