New job with probationary period

Hi all

Any advice appreciated here. My husband has just started a new job with a 6 month probationary period. We are relocating and are looking to buy a house. Do we stand any chance of getting a mortgage with this probationary period? We have a £60,000 deposit towards it.

Thanks

What's the deposit as a %age of the property you are looking to buy? If it's a 10% deposit on a £600,000 house and the income multiples are stretched it will be more difficult than if it's 40% of a £150,000 house to take the two extremes!

I dont think many mortgage lenders will lend within 6 months of starting a new job. Too risky that you you/he wont be given a perm position.
    Mortgage - £37k
    Credit Card (A&L) -[STRIKE] £2300 -[/STRIKE] £1200
    Santander Credit Card - [STRIKE]£1400[/STRIKE] £1100
    [STRIKE]OD - A&L - £1300[/STRIKE] GONE!!!
