Morning all, Just a quick one, my girlfriend and myself are looking at getting our first place together and having never had a mortgage before, we're a bit unsure of how mortgage companies rate "bad credit". Is adverse credit only based upon CCJ's/defaults? We've never missed paying a bill, although some have been late,…

A quick question for you experts out there please. Any advice on whether going for a 2 year fix is a good idea. I can fix at 5.89% now - but some commentators seem to think that rates may come back down in the next 12 months?

Prudential endowment policies - sit tight?
I have 2 policies (originally Scottish Ammicable) with an original combined target of £55,000. By remortgaging and making overpayments I have reduced the amount outstanding to £40,000. Will I find it hard to get a mortgage?
I'm looking at a flat that has roof problems. The owners have offered to give me a big discount on it if I'll take it as it is. Obviously I'll get a full survey first. Will I get a mortgage with the flat in it's current state? Is it possible to get a mortgage that will include extra to cover the repairs? Cheers.
