Husband left a couple of weeks ago, we have a joint mortgage but because he is no longer living in the house he says he is no longer liable to pay it. Is this right? We have 2 small children and I am unable to work due to a long term illness.

My 3 year fix rate mortgage at 5.3% is due to expire in Janurary and with all the news at the moment of the soaring rates on fixed mortgages and the additional cost of fees to switch should I leave it before I switch?
