For anyone like me who bought the Iphone 11 just before the price drop I found this on their website. Issues regarding SMARTY - 6 months ignored, account closed, mobile number lost
Hey MSE forum, 6 months ago when the pandemic got into full swing I was placed on furlough but didn't recieve a payment until 12 weeks later. During this time I contacted SMARTY to top up my account on a cheaper option (I was on the £20 a month option beforehand) I was told, the only way I can activate a cheaper package…

PAYG 1p Mobile
Just a warning to fully understand conditions when you sign up to any deal. I didn't and now stand to lose almost £30 of credit to 1p mobile (not their fault!) because their deal involves paying a minimum of £10 every 3 months. I'm not using my phone enough to need all this credit. Now, having read Martins excellent…

O2 took money monthly for devices already paid for
O2 have been taking money from my account for 1 year after I finished paying for my phone and for a device that was included in my 'deal' which I have never used, neither of which was specifically itemised on my bills. They openly admit to having taken £270 over payment but say they are allowed to do this as I didn't…

Cannot cancel ID mobile. Help
I'm unable to contact them in any meaningful way. There's no email, phone number and their web chat is permanently broken. I have tried their community forum (which I think is inappropriate for account sensitive information anyway) and I'm still unable to cancel my account. I've cancelled the direct debit and I'm getting…

Free gifts on phone contract.
I took out a contract through Carphone Warehouse in August. There was an offer for free AKG headphones. I know of other people who had contracts with free gifts whose gifts were automatically sent after they had the contract a certain length of time so I took it thats what would happen - had nothing to say otherwise. Now,…

beware of Voxi (vodafone) renewing passes you don't need automatically
Endless video is now included in my plan but they went ahead and renewed my endless video extra pass and charged me £7... It is impossible to buy this pass now on this plan but they go ahead and renew something you don't need anyway. (Shafting of existing customers) It took me an hour to get them to give me the £7 back…

Voxi SIM only PAYG
I've noticed that Voxi are shortening the renew date between the monthly payments. In January this year the renewal date was 12th/13th. Over the succeeding months it's slowly been brought forward so that it's now 7th. Has anyone else noticed this trend and are we getting less for our contract now than at the beginning of…

PAYG alternative(s) to EE?
I took out a PAYE deal with Asda mobile as recommended on this site for low usage. The problem is that I cannot get a phone signal inside my house. Asda uses the EE network but say that they have no influence on EE technical issues such as signal strength. I was considering switching to 1 p Mobile instead, another of the…

Cooling-off period for SIM-only contract?
Can you cancel a new contract without penalty? I signed up for the deal that was featured in a recent weekly email (Three, via Fonehouse) but within a couple of days decided it was not right for me. I telephoned Three retentions, and they told me that I would have to pay a 75 pound cancellation fee. Surely this is not…
