Free gifts on phone contract.

I took out a contract through Carphone Warehouse in August. There was an offer for free AKG headphones. I know of other people who had contracts with free gifts whose gifts were automatically sent after they had the contract a certain length of time so I took it thats what would happen - had nothing to say otherwise. Now, it turns out I needed to claim them through Samsung but the offer is now closed on Samsung. Both Carphone warehouse and Samsung are saying there is nothing they can do.  Ive veen back through emails from Carphone and see nothing about claiming. Lesson learnt - never assume, always ask, always look for EVER bit of small print.

Where was the offer? How was it advertised? How did you take out the contract - in store, online? What was said at the time about the offer?
