How to Check Mobile Reception
I am currently on Vodafone due for renewal. Where we live in a hollow/valley (the house is called Boghall after all) mobile phone signals vary. Vodafone is great Orange is poor had to go outside (most of the time). O2 is not much better. Is there anyway to tell how the others will operate?

Free internet for a friend (idea)
I was wondering how easy it would be, if someone goes broadband, to set it up so that someone else could dial into their old phone modem and then access the internet through the person's new broadband connection. So you could share a little bit of your broadband with a friend who had a modem, and save them the cost of…

Mobile phone safety
Not really money-saving, but with the uptake of mobile phones, it's probably worth knowing about the recent news about the European Union-funded Reflex research that "Radio waves from mobile phones do harm body cells and damage DNA". However, there's no need to panic just yet: the results are unpublished and are…

Sendo M55
Just bought one of these for the Mrs for Xmas from Woolies. Half price from £59.99 to £29.99. Seems to have all the toys on it colour screen, poly whatsit tones etc, no camera. It's also a flip phone. I checked out the Amazon site for a review (in case I bought a piece of crap) and the reviews were exellent, in fact the…

Nokia 7250i and 6610i
I had this on the shop but don't drop board - but it might be more appropriate here. Virgin mobile are doing Nokia 7250i's for £79.99 on their website and there is 3.5% cashback through greasy palm. Tesco have a similar deal but it doesn't include any free airtime and they are out of stock on their website. T-Mobile have…

Mobile Phones for £20 ... Scam ... or for Real?
OK, I've done a wee search through the site and I haven't come across anyone else mentioning this so I thought I'd put it out there for some public opinion!! I've increasingly noticed that some Ebay sellers are selling "links" to websites where you can buy whatever phone you wish for £20. Now such a link just seems to have…

Tesco Broadband
What experience does anyone have of Tesco? I 'signed up' 5 weeks ago, am still waiting and have been told twice, when I chased, that they are waiting on the local exchange to increase capacity. Is this flannel, or could they be right? Is there anything I can do to chase? Are Tesco still OK for a 512 line, unlimited…

Call 18866 >and< Ratebuster
This site is great! In the last month we have shifted from BT and Onetel (no CPS) to Onetel with CPS for free weekend calls, and 18866 and 1899 for cheap weekday, 0845, 0870 and international to Australia calls. I have tried Ratebuster to get 1p a minute to Australia, but the line quality was hopeless and both BT and…

PAC CODE
It may be a silly question but I am just about to ask orange to end my annual contract. I already have a sim card to go onto PAYG with the same company. Can anyone tell me what the PAC code does? Does it unlock the mobile so I can use another provider? I am going to use orange at the moment but may use another in the…

Charged for 07744 numbers on 3 network
I have just received my bill from 3, they have charged me for using 0744. I phoned them to query this. 3 said they regard 0744 as a personal number, so is not included in the inclusive minutes. I told him that other networks include 0744 in the inclusive minutes, and asked to speak to a manager, but he refused as he felt…
