Charged for 07744 numbers on 3 network

I have just received my bill from 3, they have charged me for using 0744.
I phoned them to query this. 3 said they regard 0744 as a personal number, so is not included in the inclusive minutes. I told him that other networks include 0744 in the inclusive minutes, and asked to speak to a manager, but he refused as he felt that he had answered my query.

Has anyone else been charged by 3?

It may well be a number allocated in Eire, and it may be allocated in many other countries.

I suspect that the earleir poster meant to state 07744 which is allocated in the UK, and maybe in Eire too.

The 07744 prefix is classed as a mobile service and is allocated in the UK to Inquam Telecom (Holdings) Ltd.

The three network have obviously realised that this prefix is being used for onward routing of calls and they have therefore tariffed it differently and excluded it from calls inclusive within the cross-network bundles.

I guess they can do this if they so choose, just as Voda TMobile and 3 do tariff for freephone numbers, ie 0800 0808.

Hiu - you have got the number wrong. Its a 07744 number which is a uk mobile number according to ofcom. So it should be included in the cross network minutes
