Free internet for a friend (idea)

I was wondering how easy it would be, if someone goes broadband, to set it up so that someone else could dial into their old phone modem and then access the internet through the person's new broadband connection. So you could share a little bit of your broadband with a friend who had a modem, and save them the cost of dialling up with an official internet provider.
It could be a good way to save money as most internet dialup numbers are excluded from free calls deals but this would just be a call between two people who know each other.
I don't know if it could be done or what software you could use. Sorry if this is technical but I thought it was a good idea.

Yes this is very possible and i do this whenever i travel. although i dialup in via mobile (using tmobile off peak 750).
Depending on your operating system you can set this up. Windows XP is probably the easiest. What are you using?ummm...0 -
A friend of mine has broadband and allows his next door neighbour to use his connection via a 54g wireless connection to his router. They share the cost of the connection so both parties have reduced costs and are happy.
One way of reducing costs i guess!0
