I have heard from someone today that it is available on prescription. Is this true?? I was…

Combining finances
I recently got married and up til now, Hubbie and I have always had separate finances (although we lived together). We bought our own food and I gave him money towards the bills. Whilst I don't think we should have all our money in a joint account, it would make sense to combine bills, housekeeping etc. What I'd like to…

Did anyone watch the au pair programme on Monday?
I'm surprised there isn't already a thread about this (unless thhere is and I missed it?) I just wondered what people thought about the programme. I watched it because I have a vested interest in it, as I'm currently hiring my 3rd au pair, but I was a little bit horrified with some of what I saw!!! Do you think Cutting It…

Healthy (ish!) Party recipes for Daughter's 2nd Birthday please?
When I say healthy..she will be getting the obligatory fairy cakes from my mum, but she does love healthy stuff too so it seems daft to pump her full of chocolate and hot dogs (head, shoulders knees and toes...!) if we can do her something else fancy that she'll love. It's not a kids party as such, just family, does anyone…

NCT Antenatal classes - worth it?
I have just popped a £200 cheque in the post, WHICH WE CANNOT AFFORD  , to pay for NCT antenatal classes. I had to pursuade hubby to write the cheque as he was not convinced, but at first time parents I think we need all the help we can get. Unfortunately the organising lady said that instead of the 16 hour run up to…

Not enough Pre School places
In my area there are two dodgy primary schools. It has been decided that the two will merge on the site of one of these schools to create a bigger, better superschool... This leaves a problem with the Pre school though. The pre school has not been given any additional places for children to start in September so…

We are moving to the catchment area of a particular secondary school - does anyone know the timescales involved in the sending out of the preference documents to parents. Feeling a bit low
Sorry to post this but just needed to get it off my chest. Basically, to cut a long story short, I feel that my sister (only sibling) has no interest in me or my family at all. I thought we were close although she has never really seemed to seek my company, preferring to spend time with her inlaws. Holidays and nights out…

School politics and a headmistress who couldn't care less
My youngest son was due to go on a school trip on Wed and parents were invited to go too. So me and my son organised to go. Then on Friday there was a disagreement with the class teacher and suddenly there isn't space for me on the school trip. My little one has cried his heart out all night, so we tried to speak to…
