Boiler flexible repayments
Not sure whether I"m posting this in the right place, but here goes. Boiler is of course breaking down, and too old for cover. As I might rent place, I need to replace it. Have been looking into getting a repayment deal through British Gas, as I can't afford to pay for new boiler in one go. However, terms seem a bit…

is this as cost effective
as the timer controls for my worcester boiler are in a hard to reach airing cupboard, would it be ok to leave permanently switched on to 'constant' setting and to operate the on and off switch situated directly on the boiler, wondered if this would be using more energy and if if would do the boiler any harm to be switched…

use an electric heater or put the heating on?
I have an electric heater (EWT EW533, I think) - one of those lightweight portable things, vaguely radiator shaped. I'm wondering if it would be cheaper to use this in one room of my room, where I spend most of my time, rather than put on the whole heating system (gas, newish eco-boiler thing). Or is the electric heater…

Storage heaters
A totally renovated house I recently viewed has new slimline Sunhouse SSH18M electric heaters 2.5kw. I know nothing about this type of heating. Googled and the limited information advised this model is a storage heater which allows full manual control of both energy imput and heat output. I do understand that this type of…

Price of home heating oil in Lancashire
Been watching the oil price closely recently as soon to be in need of circa 2000 litres. Boilerjuice.jom for my postcode (PR4) gives a best price, today, of 57.25 per litre. But out of curiosity, I entered the postcodes for my place of work, one in Warrington (WA5) and one in Prescot (L34), and I get quotes in the region…

Just took delivery of a woodburner and now I am looking for seasoned logs. I don't have anywhere per se to store them so I guess I would need to buy a storage shed of somekind that was watertight - is that right? What is the approx price I should be paying for logs , i am in west berkshire.

Eco-Fan.
Anyone advise if they are any good??? Hopefully my woodburner will arrive next week, will be a learning curve if heat will distribute to where I am hoping it will, but read the spec and, at around £70-ish a pop, which I don't mind parting with, as long as it pushes some heat around? Ta in advance. W.
