IVA- First Creditors Call
9am this morning (Sat) I received my first phone call from Natwest Credit Card. I explained what was happening and they were completely understanding. They put a note on my file so that I don't get bothered by more phone call within the next 30 days. Not to scary with them! I've received my IVA draft yesterday!

Hi I am in the process of setting up an iva through Pay plan, I have opened a new current account with M&S will this be okay or will they close it when they find out? I have not asked for an overdraft and currently hold no accounts or debts with M&S or HSBC. I'm hoping to get them to switch my credits and debits across.…

failing IVA
I have been in an IVA with DFD since December 2010. All was going ok-ish until my eldest finished college and started Uni. At that time my income dropped as I stopped receiving child support and child benefit for him. I asked DFD to lower my contributions to reflect the change but they said that my creditors would only…

Preparing for an IVA - some questions before we do
Hi all With our recent tax credits renewal our monthly income has fallen by more than £200, which is no longer sustainable along with the three credit cards we have. So we went to PayPlan who have started preparations for an IVA. One of the things they told us to do was get bank accounts set up elsewhere (we both bank with…

IVA issue
My husband has an IVA and HMRC are forcing him to sell our home. Is there anyway we can appeal? We were originally told that, rather than going down the bankruptcy route, he should take the IVA option as he would be less likely to lose his home. That we could pay the debt over two years. Our 5year old is terrified of…

Ok, I know no one has a crystal ball, however, we are 37 months into our iva, I've had a serious health problem for the last 12 months made worse by my job, spent some time looking for an alternative job but these would mean a massive drop in income which would leave the iva unviable (we pay £235 a month) the iva was…

Opting out of including property
Having read about something similar on here, made me think about my situation. I am just about to embark on the IVA journey after the creditors meeting. I have a buy-to-let property, but wanted it kept out of the IVA as it's my pension instead of having a pension policy. Due to this, I have an extra 12 months bolted onto…
