I've been Money Tipped! Chutzpah Haggler
Ok, I know no one has a crystal ball, however, we are 37 months into our iva, I've had a serious health problem for the last 12 months made worse by my job, spent some time looking for an alternative job but these would mean a massive drop in income which would leave the iva unviable (we pay £235 a month) the iva was originally agreed to repay £15k back over 5 years based on a total debt of £54k, we have paid in £11k so far due to extra funds we have paid in over the last 3 years.

Health problem has been investigated by a consultant but no surgical correction available and have written evidence to show it is going to deteriorate over the next few years which IP has seen.

IP has agreed a variation to ask creditors to accept payments made to date so I can leave my job and find something less physically demanding, variation is booked for 28th of this month.

Any ideas how likely this is to be accepted?, I'm tearing my hair out worrying about it, like going through the iva all over again, we are with Melanie Giles.

Only your IP will stay for sure so just wait for them to come back to you. Its not in their interest to fail your IVA and should work with you until the end.

Your not too far off 25% repayment at the moment so not doing too bad.

  • Be guided your IP MillieMonster, they would be unlikely to propose a variation that they think would not be accepted.

It sounds like you have a good chance of it being accepted :-)

Good luck and let us know how you get on x
  • ...You are with one of the best IP's in the business in my opinion.

If it's doable, MG will let you know.

Give her a buzz now, and not worry about it over the weekend.

    Good luck.
