Losing interest when transferring an ISA
I thought I was clued up on ISAs and saving money but I've just found out that all ISA transfers, even if you follow the instructions provided by the banks, are done by cheque, and you're losing interest while the transfer is taking place. I've just transferred my ISA and it took 3 weeks for the money to move from one…

Abbey vs A&L ISAs
Hi, Does anyone know if there's a difference between the Abbey and A&L 6.25% ISAs? I've quickly (very quickly mind so happy to be corrected) scanned the t&c's and note that A&L have a 180days loss of interest if I were to transfer out. I think Abbey's is 30 days. Would be grateful to see what you think. Thanks

Abbey Easy ISA to Direct ISA
Hi, Abbey are offering 6.5% for the first year if you open a direct ISA, I also know you can transfer from an Easy Isa (which I currently have) which pays 5.5%. Would there be any reasons why you wouldnt just change your Easy ISA into a Direct ISA to get that extra 1%?

Looking at the fixed rate 6.26% ISA offer from Skipton it does state: 'No limit to the number of withdrawals or transfers you can make (minimum £1) although all withdrawals will incur a penalty of 90 days loss of interest... Sorry to be thick and old but is TRANSFERS = deposits? You see in the world of ISA's transfers mean…

RBS 07/08 isa problem - help please if you can.
Hiya folks I wonder if I could pick your brains a bit. Last Wednesday I transferred some savings at the last minute into my Royal Bank of Scotland ISA after a bit of a struggle with the person concerned telling her I knew I needed to fill in a form to reactivate the ISA as it had not been used for over a year. At the risk of sounding thick...
....here goes! I have £3k in an 07/08 ISA (A&L). I am ready to put £3.6k in an 08/09 ISA. So, if I want to put this years cash into A&L too, do I just deposit it into the existing ISA account that currently has my 07/08 quota? Or do I have to open a new 08/09 ISA account with A&L? Thanks!

NS&I ISA Help
THis might be a silly question but I can't find the answer anywhere else on their website. Basically I've received my interest for the last tax year on my Isa, now can I withdraw this without it affecting my tax free allowance, surely I only earn interest on the £3,000 and not the interest I've been paid? Thanks

Previous and current ISA subscriptions
If previous subscriptions do not count towards current subscriptions, would it be possible to transfer previous subscriptions to a fixed rate ISA and then add current subscriptions to your existing ISA (opened in the previous tax year) within the same bank?
