Hiya folks I wonder if I could pick your brains a bit.
Last Wednesday I transferred some savings at the last minute into my Royal Bank of Scotland ISA after a bit of a struggle with the person concerned telling her I knew I needed to fill in a form to reactivate the ISA as it had not been used for over a year.
She was reluctant to do this, but did eventually get me a form which I filled in, but told me not to worry and showed me on the screen it had transferred fine. Well I said I've had this show before only for a few days later for the money to be bounced back into my normal account.
Well you've probably guessed it, I checked my balance today on my other account and instead of sitting in my interest free overdraft, it's now showing in credit. You guessed it, the money I put into the ISA has bounced back, but not even to the original account it came from and I'm pretty annoyed to say the least.
I was planning on transferring this money to the Alliance & Leicester ISA and opened it up today, but it looks like I've lost last years allowance thanks to a bank mistake. Have I lost last years allowance thanks to a banks mix up?
Any suggestions as to where I go from here now. I'm going into the bank tomorrow to query it. It's bad enough it's not been transferred but to transfer it back to the wrong account has really miffed me off more!
Thanks in advance for any replies.
