Quick question about ISA's
Hi, Just a quick question for you. My partner and I have just sold his car, and got 8.5k for it, as I'm pregnant (due in Jan) and we want to buy a cheaper car, and use the spare money to tide us over while I'm on maternity leave. We could put 3k each in an ISA, but would have to take the money out again in Dec/Jan to buy a…

Dividends in Self Select ISAs and PEPs
In the same way you would check your bank and credit card statements for errors, please do the same with your Self Select ISAs and PEPs. An example of why. My PEP was credited with a dividend of 24p instead of 34p for Land Securities (LAND). A quick email to the PEP manager got the response that the dividend was 34p gross…

What exactly is going on with the stock market at the moment?
So, what is causing the FTSE to tank? Is it the US credit bubble? The UK credit bubble? What exactly is going on? Just curious. I am a newbie to investing so for all I know this happens "all the time" but I am wondering how "normal" it is for it to drop 200+ points in a week?

Where do people think interest rates will go in the next year or so. Some people are talking about 6.5% or even more. If that's the case are the non guaranteed rates going…

Egg are sending round an e-mail saying they will not be passing on the recent increase in BoE interest rates to their cash ISA customers. The rate is staying at 6.05% - now well behind NS&I (wish I'd stuck with them for this year's allowance). Boo, Egg! Boo!!!
