Transferring share assets to an ISA
Hi, I have a mini cash ISA for this tax year. I am disposing of some shares to utilise my Capital Gains Tax allowance for this tax year. Approx £3000 of these shares are for HBOS. Does it make sense to put the £3000 of shares in a 'mini stocks and shares ISA' (to avoid future CGT problems) or will the annual maintenance…

Buy ISA now or wait a few weeks?
Will providers start getting a bit more competitive in a few weeks time, the closer we get to April, or might I just as well plump for the best deal ISA now? ISA with a passbook?
My daughter is 17. She has an ISA for regular savings, but keeps dipping into it. She does this by walking into the bank with some ID. She knows she needs to save, (to the point of asking the bank if they'll refuse to let her withdraw unless she brings in a letter from her mum!) but finds it really difficult. I've…

A&L Direct ISA interest rate
Does anyone know if the rate on the Direct ISA issue 1 is still 5.15% - on A&L's website it is still 5.15%. I remember there was a 0.65%+Base Rate guarantee until the end of last year. What I do not want to receive is the letter dated "January" on the 31st telling me the rate has changed.
