Hi!
Can I grab some advise... I want to invest £1000 in a mini-cash isa before i spend it!
Can't decide on Bradford and Bingley against the Halifax. They both offer 5%, does anyone feel that one is better than the other?
I was going to go with B&B because of their internet only option, but I walk past a Halifax every day so I'm being lazy if thats my only deciding factor!
Any advise would be brilliant, cheers for this site - Its helping me sort myself out at last! :j

The Halifax ISA Direct (the one paying 5%) cannot be managed at branch, as it's a telephone/internet based account.0

Cheers, saves me from making a fool out of myself after work! Sooo... should I flip a coin?

Heres an alternative - small BS, more personal service and a more consistent high interest rate than B&B and Halifax https://www.krbs.co.uk - at present 4.96% with internet statements, which is £1.20 pa on a sum of £3,000. It probably means you won't always be having to move your ISA around for the best rate.Survivor of debt, redundancy, endowment scams, share crashes, sky-high inflation, lousy financial advice, and multiple house price booms. This is not advice - hopefully it's common sense..0 -
Yup, you are £1.20 better off per £3,000 saved using B&B and Halifax. Enjoy it because if you look at their track record it won't last. Kelda Group or HBOS shareholders will see to that.Survivor of debt, redundancy, endowment scams, share crashes, sky-high inflation, lousy financial advice, and multiple house price booms. How about the Alliance and Leicester Direct ISA at 5.2% till April 2007? You also get 50 quid if you switch your current account to them and 50 quid each time you 'recommend a friend' and they switch too. Plus, when you open a current account you can open a Premier regular saver account which pays a whopping 10% but is limited to regular monthly deposits of between 10 and 250 per month and only pays the interest on the anniversary of the first payment.0

What does Kelda Group have to do with anything?
