Still ISA Confused, Please help!

Options
I have read all the posts here and am still confused. I opened what I think was a mini ISA years ago. It currently has £7 in it.
I will soon have £4k borrowed on top of my new mortgage for double glazing which I will not be using immediately.
Can I put all of that in my ISA? I'm confused about the £3k a year bit. It will probably be used within a few months, so where is the best place to put it for maximum interest while it's still there?
I'm with Nat West for my current account and ISA and don't really want to open a new account for a few months (as I'm not good with that sort of thing), unless it would make a significant difference to put it somewhere else.
Any idea how much interest £4k could make in 3 or 4 months?
Sorry for my ignorance and help greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot.

Precious Thing.

You can go and open a mini cash ISA now and put £3K into it, then open another one in April and put the other £1K into it. Check the main MSE site for best rates - around 5% tax free is possible. Put the other £1K into a high rate savings account meanwhile.

Edit: I don't know whether you can put money into the old ISA. You probably can.

If your didn't add anything to your ISA for years, you cannot just add money into it. Call the bank and ask how you can activate your ISA.

You cannot add more than £3000 per financial year to your cash ISA: ISAs - save tax
