Buy ISA now or wait a few weeks?

Will providers start getting a bit more competitive in a few weeks time, the closer we get to April, or might I just as well plump for the best deal ISA now?

We're selling the house and going travelling and planning on both putting the maximum possible into 05/06 and 06/07 ISAs from the sale of our house as part of our savings plan.

Money won't come through for another few weeks but we will be right in the middle of trying to move out / sell the car / pack at that point and would really like to try and get as much done now as possible. However, don't want to kick myself if much better offers come out in a few weeks.

Any advice?

    What sort of ISA?

Investment ISAs will usually have no difference. Although a few fund managers may offer special terms. That being said, many of them take it in turns at various points throughout the year and there are some on currently.

Sorry - a mini cash ISA I think? The £3000 limit one? We both have one from last year with IF.

I think rates will improve in Feb / March on where they are now... thought probably at most by 0.25%.

We are already seeing signs of this trend with A&L's 5.2% rate.

Yes, but that's the only one to my knowledge. Other banks/BS are reducing rates. Having said that it's looking less likely that rates will fall as was expected in the next couple of months. Personally, I don't see a BoE rate change in the foreseeable future (before May).
