Problems with Salamander pump
Will an airlock on
the hot supply of a shower pump cause the bearings to fail? Before
they failed, I never noticed any lack of hot water whilst using the
shower. About 20 years ago,
I had a Salamander pump installed by a plumber and for about 17 years
it worked fine. About 3 years ago the bearings seized due to a seal
leak…

In the spirit of money-saving and not throwing things away when they still work, I'm looking at enhancing my current kitchen instead of buying a new one. One thing that drives me mad about my kitchen is the lack of drawer space. There are lots of tutorials online for how to do this, but I'm looking for some advice that's…

Drip behind wall
Hey, Every time I run the shower I hear a drip in the wall where the shower pipes obviously are. It lasts for about 20-30 seconds then stops . It doesn't seem to happen when the shower isn't running. I see no sign of water damage on the ceiling below or under the skirting board. Only way to make sure would be to rip the…

is it worth replacing paint on brick walls with lime wash?
I think `I have read enough about applying the likes of Sandtex Weathershield or some other plastic paint to realise it is bad mistake to paint over what is in fact a finished product - brick, as it doesn't allow it to breathe properly water, gets trapped under the surface which causes the paint to flake and the bricks to…
