Doubling up on water butts
I have just got an adapter to use on two waterbutts to increase water storage from one downpipe Is it OK to use two different sizes of butts on one pipe ? According to what I read - it is advised to use identical butts - as long as the heights are correct I don't see any problems ?

Filter kitchen tap for coffee machine?
Does any have a kitchen tap with filter function? Does it improve the water taste (no/less chlorine taste) and reduce limescale thus won't clog up the inside of a bean-to-cup coffee machine? The coffee machine at work had to be replaced every 1 or 2 year despite being cleaned and descaled regularly. I've been using 2 Brita…

I plan to close holes now. Any idea if that DPC protection is…

How to fix a leaking washing machine tap
]I have changed the cold fill hose and washer. I have also tightened up the white fitting with a wrench but still the water leaks, even with the tap turned off it still drips out. Under pressure it comes out more. Is this a job for a plumber, if so is this going to be expensive?

Damp Proofing Cellar
We tend to get ground water leaking through the brick wall in the attached dug out which is located in the cellar. We suspect the previous owners dug down to create head clearance without realising there was a water table underneath. I would prefer the head clearance, so would not want to fill the hole up. Is there any…

Apparently can't drill a hole to save my life?
Hi guys, bit of advice here because I'm at a loss. When I lived at my mums I could drill a hole. No problem. The walls were tough and it was a crappy drill but holes went in, they stayed the same size as planned, no issues. Wooden shelves were mounted in long rows all on point and all are still standing 20years later. Now,…

Help Cleaning Outdoor Furniture
Hi all! I wish I could upload pics! But.... I have had my outdoor sofa for around a month but a chalky, white substance has started to appear on the cushions. First Home Improvements - Grants for Windows
Just had a salesman at the door trying to get me to book an appointment to talk about replacing our windows with a £200 grant available for each window. This is a scam, right? They would spend 4 hours in my home giving me a huge over-inflated price and then get various discounts? Hoping I was right to turn them away, after…

More than half of the party wall thickness built in adjoining land.
The party wall agreement states "The party wall shall be positioned so that no more than half its thickness shall extend across the boundary line." Hoover recommendations
Looking for recommendations for an upright hoover preferably under £150 max budget £200. Must have a warranty/guarantee. Currently have a goblin but it's spitting things out. Have tried to clean it out as much as possible but no avail. Will mainly be used on carpet. Reviews seem quite mixed for what I've looked at.
