First Home Improvements - Grants for Windows

Just had a salesman at the door trying to get me to book an appointment to talk about replacing our windows with a £200 grant available for each window. This is a scam, right? They would spend 4 hours in my home giving me a huge over-inflated price and then get various discounts? Hoping I was right to turn them away, after listening to them talk for 20 minutes!

Had a similar pitch from EcoFrames not that long back. Way over inflated starting price, but could "offer" 50% funding if I paid a (from memory) £250 refundable-against-windows application fee there and then.
There is no "funding" for windows & doors. It is simply a marketing scam backed by a load of high pressure sales & bolløck. Go find a local independent installer and save yourself 75% of First's initial quote - Even after their "discounts" and "funding" you'll still save 20% by using a local installer.Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –
