Doubling up on water butts

I have just got an adapter to use on two waterbutts to increase water storage from one downpipe
Is it OK to use two different sizes of butts on one pipe ?
According to what I read - it is advised to use identical butts - as long as the heights are correct I don't see any problems ?

As long as they are the same height they should be O K.
( I would do it anyway)I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0 -
As long as the tops are at the same level it doesn't matter if they have different volumes.0
