2 storey extension one at a time
Hi there, We've just recently bought a house and are looking to do an extension to replace our garage. To maximise space, we would ideally want a 2 storey extension BUT cannot afford 2 storey any time soon. Is anyone aware if you are able to to do a 2 storey extension one floor at a time? Any advice would be appreciated

Leather sofa : can it be dyed?
I bought a leather corner unit from DFS a couple of years ago, it's like a brushed leather and it is still in good condition. However it's a tan colour and I really don't like it. I would love to dye it or better still pay someone to dye it. I would like to dye it a charcoal colour. I know it's only a colour and I could…

Roof survey

There's been a lot of wind and rain and I just need the peace of mind.…

1960's flat - wooden battens in concrete floor
Hi, we've recently moved into a flat built in the late 1960's. We've had the old carpets taken up in preparation for new flooring and found that wooden battens run along the length of the walls. They are approx 4" away from the walls. Out of interest, does any know what the battens are for? Many thanks.

The sales guy said i could just replace the glass which is a cheaper option and i would get a 5 year warranty on the glass. But due to the plastic window frames being so old it could happen again and to other pieces of glass as the…

I have cared about the details of this…
