Noise from council house - council's responsibility?

New bay window - who?
Hi, We have a bay window with flat roof and would like a 'proper' roof on it and it to be a new shape (plus a bit larger). Who do you get to do this kind of thing? A generic builder? A window company? I don't know who best to turn to for it, especially as it also includes windows. Thanks

Floorboards with semi-circular lines underneath
I've seen pine floorboards for sale which instead of being flat underneath, have a number of semi-circular indentations which run the full length of the boards. I think the person at the builders merchants said they allow more flex. I know nothing about floorboards, so was just wondering if you're familiar with these, and…

Plumber charges query
Property Management contracted a plumber to repair the toilet waste pipe in my apartment. Now he wants to charge me nearly £400 for parts and labour.…

I need to trim around 5mm of each end of every door and for the first one I used a power planer but this seemed to take a lot of passes and a long time. I'm now thinking it might be better to use a circular saw but I'm not sure how well the…

Bedroom plug socket positioning
We are getting a loft conversion which will include a master bedroom so all plumbing and electrics can be positioned exactly how we want it.
