Washing machine woes, any engineers online please

Yesterday my washing machine went on the blink, it was pumping out the water but then just continuously turning and not going on to spin.

We checked the filter and took the pipes from the back and made sure they were not blocked. After that it started to wotk again.

Today I have done 3 washes and on the 3rd one the same thing has happened, the washes have been bedding and towels so nothing in there from pockets.

Its pumping out the water and turning constantly but not spinning. Is it a new washer job or simple to get fixed?

Any advice please?

Does it try to spin at all, then give up, this would indicate that it reckons the weight in the drum is un-balanced. Can happen more easily with heavy things like towels.

Can also happen if not enough water is being removed by the pump before spinning.

Can you get accesss to remove a few items, lighten the load, see if that helps?

What make and model is it?

We have a Bosch and it is very fussy about not spinning if it thinks it is not balanced!

My almost new Siemens machine also refused to spin when I washed just one fleecy hoodie in it. It was the out of balance sensor stopping it.

Could be a pressure sensor thinking there is still too much water in the machine.

Yes ours does that too, had to add a couple of clean towels in to fool it!

Thank you all for the replies. Ive tried taking some out and just putting a sheet back in but whatever I have in its just as if its trying to spin but not getting there.

Ive rang someone to come out on Monday so thats good that he can come before Christmas.

    Thank you all.
