Anyone had their conservatory roof replaced with a solid one?
We have a conservatory which we hardly ever use (usual reasons too cold in winter, too hot in summer) then I saw an advert for replacing the roof with a hard one which would help make the space more usable. I sort of had a figure in my mind (ish) and then asked for a rough quote and the figure they gave me was about 4…

Is this asbestos?
This brown board is on the side of the chimney breast in the kitchen: It's hidden by a kitchen cabinet and tiled up to where the cabinet starts. You can see it from the outside too, the chimney is plastered for about 6inches and then the board starts, it's painted white: Is it asbestos? If so what should I do? Thank you!

How Do I Wallpaper Without Damaging Power Sockets?
Hi I am about to re-wallpaper some walls in my house. The last time I did it I used a Stanley knife to create a 'cut out' around my power sockets. This was done by placing the wallpaper over the socket, and then initially slashing the paper in a 'criss-cross' pattern. The above method left score marks on my power sockets.…

Once in place, I let it stand for 27 hours so am sure no damage has been caused, however upon…

Cavity Wall Insulation - Damp/Damage Claims
Hi, My parents had cavity wall insulation installed in 2005, the expanding foam type. They now have serious damp/water ingress problems on the gable end which I believe is due to driving rain. I therefore don't think it was appropriate to have it installed originally and would like to understand what recourse we have over…
