Anyone had their conservatory roof replaced with a solid one?

We have a conservatory which we hardly ever use (usual reasons too cold in winter, too hot in summer) then I saw an advert for replacing the roof with a hard one which would help make the space more usable. I sort of had a figure in my mind (ish) and then asked for a rough quote and the figure they gave me was about 4 times what I had thought it would be. The conservatory is about 10 ft by 8 ft and has a 'lean to' type roof and was quoted £2,700. Is this a reasonable quote? I have absolutely no idea.
I was just wondering if anyone had had one of these roofs and whether it was worth the money spent.
Thank you
