"Nationwide" property maintenance and groundwork
Anyone got information on the people (working in pairs I think) who leave A6 size colour-printed cards with no company name but headed as "Nationwide property maintenance and groundwork" ? They offer a freephone number and 3 landline numbers (London, Hampshire, Chichester) but no address, no website, no names - and offer…

Adjusting the front door
Hi, Since we moved into this house three years ago the PVC front door has always been a bit dodgy - you can't lock it with the key because it doesn't line up properly. When you close it, it locks and you can either open it from the inside with the handle or from the outside with the key but you can't lock it from the…

Aluminium vs PVC folding/sliding doors
We are hoping to build an extension to the back of our house this year. We want the back wall to be mostly glazed so that we get the view of our garden. Quick question about electric cooker?
I've just bought a 2nd hand electric cooker from ebay. Do electric cookers come with a plug or just a wire to be hardwired into the cooker socket? If it has to be wired, can I just stick a plug on the end of it as I'm not much good at electrics and am a bit worried about tackling wiring it into a socket. I do have a…

Laying limestone tiles over old vinyl floor.....or remove first?
Hi all, We are about to lay some very expensive limestone floor tiles in the breakfast room (and later the soon to be built kitchen extension) of our new (old) house.
