Just took out an old fire place and the space is much bigger then the standard side of a Hearth which comes with surround.
I dont want to replace flooring in the room, I was looking at ways around for example placing a large marble Hearth with the standard size (which comes with set on top).
Does anyone have any ideas?
Many Thanks

you can make your own (any size) hearth, out of all sorts of brick/stone/concrete materials.Get some gorm.0 -
If You go to your local fireplace showroom, they should be able to help. It isn't something you can buy over the internet.
They should be able to get one made in granite, marble or stone, even tiles if you want them.
If you are using the fireplace for a solid fuel fire, you will need it 'slabbing up' so they don't crack. It should also be in at least 2 pieces on the flat area alowing for expansion. Gas should be ok without, just blob a bit if cement down to keep it in place and level it out.
The most important thing you must do is give accurate measurements of were you need the hearth to cover, also reiterate to them that this will be the measurements for the RISER, not the overall flat area. If you dont, you will have a gap which will not be covered by the hearth. The riser is normally about 1/2'' indented underneath the flat area. Hearths are also usually approx 2'' high, so take that into account.
One last thing, If your fireplace is anything like the one Ormus has shown, you will need to find out , if it can be unscrewed and put on top of the hearth, as you will find it almost impossible to get one made with so many cut ins required for the legs.
A good reputable fireplace shop does this type of thing all the time and will be your best place to get it sorted. I do at least 2 a week, this is not unusual for us al.0
