Sarking boards for fencing?
We've got 3 quotes for new garden fencing, the cheapest quote is using 150mm x 19mm treated sarking boards with a 75mm x 32mm backing rail. Sarking boards seem to be mainly for loft flooring. Please can anyone advise for or against its use for fencing? Many thanks.

Do local planning departments come and meet with neighbours over a disputed fence?
We have asked our neighbour to lower his fence due to it being over 2m. It is attached to our wall which was agreed before we knew the height it was going to be. He has stated that he wants to get a meeting between us and planning to work out what is allowed etc. (although we have said that the limit is 2m) We agreed and…

Glass in patio windows
I'm going to be replacing my patio windows and on visiting a local company today I asked if there's a glass that helps to cut out UV rays to help stop fading of carpets. Is frost free fridge freezer any good?
Currently have a Hotpoint frost free fridge freezer which died today. It is approx 8 years old. From the beginning it has been giving us problems. Ice will build up in the freezer section and would stop the fan from circulating cold air into the fridge hence a warm fridge. I will have to remove the panel in the freezer…

I happened to pop to my Mum's the other day as she had a visit from a window sales man. Bathroom light not working - what obvious things should I check?
The light and fan in my bathroom have stopped working. It's a rented house (so my moneysaving plan is to get my LL to fix it), but I'll feel a real idiot if an electrician does the equivalent of changing the bulb. I'd be very grateful for an idiots guide of things I can check before telling my LL about it - things on the…
