New boiler, which is best?
I've been getting quotes to get my old back boiler removed and a new combi boiler installed. I've narrowed it down to two companies, both are Corgi registered so basically it comes down the boilers they have suggested. I've tried looking online for reviews but have not been able to get much information so I thought I'd ask…

Boarding my loft and insulation
Following on from my quesion about loft ladders, I also have to board my loft and it occurs to me that it might be a good time to top up my insulation. There is already a reasonable amount up there (it comes to within about 3cm of the top of the joists from what I can see while perching precariously on top of the step…

Loft ladders? Any recommendations?
Hi I need to have a loft ladder installed as part of some home improvement works. I've been told to get aluminium instead of wood and it needs to be retractable and lightweight so that I can push it back up in the loft when it is not in use. However, is fitting one a DIY job or is it best left to the professionals? I don't…

We were going to have vinyl on our kitchen floor for budget reasons, but now think that tiling may not be that much more expensive.
