Fake/Artificial Plants to Decorate my Home

Okay so I live in a lovely little flat with my boyfriend, the only problem being, with it being Scotland and the fact the flat is on the ground floor and surrounded by tall buildings we don't get much natural light.
I really want some plants in the flat, but know they wouldn't stand a chance. I have seen some artificial ones, but they were really highly priced and I can't afford to shell out loads on fake greenary!
Anyone help on this? We are in Edinburgh, very central, but no car.
Thanks, Sarah x

Artificial plants are horrible!
You will be suprised how well REAL plants can adapt to most situations and also the various plants that you can get to suit your situation.
Failing that, you can always get some sunlight simulated lightbulbs fitted!
Get some real plants, give them plenty of water, the occassional plant feed and if you won't want to stretch to man-made sunlight, then perhaps you can position some mirrors to reflect what light you do get?0 -
choose plants that do well without much light and you'll be fine, much better than nasty fake onesPeople seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

Have you any suggestions on what types of plants would survive well? I have no clue whatsoever when it comes to types of plants! I can do the looking-after but thats about it!Debt 1: Personal Loan £88 per month til 2010

philodendrum will do well, peace lilies are happiest without direct sunlightPeople seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

i agree about getting real plants but i saw in marks and sparks today some gorgeous fake orchids in loads of different colours which fooled me into thinking they were real! when i lived in a dark flat i had a garden in a bottle which did really well as long as it wasn't over watered.Paddle #8 DFW Nerd #12840
