Microwave buzzing when washing machine in use, is this normal?

Hi all,

I've got a bit of a strange issue. In my new flat I had the washing machine on last night and every time it went to fill, there was an electrical buzzing noise coming from the microwave. The microwave was not in use at the time and when I switched the microwave off at the socket the buzzing stopped immediately. When I switched the socket back on, the microwave started buzzing again.

Both the washing machine and microwave are brand new and are not connected to the same physical socket. The washing machine is connected to an isolated switch although I don't know if that means anything in regards to the problem. The microwave does not usually emit that sort of electrical buzzing when in normal use or when the washing machine is not on.

Could someone please tell me if this is normal behaviour?

Cheers,
- Odie
