Sky+ box
Any ideas how to get the latest sky+ box for cheap? It sells for £99 on sky's website with an additional £30 installation charge, £70 on ebay and until Christmas eve, Currys had a special in-store offer selling it for £29.00. Any idea if it is available in deals periodically? If yes, where to hunt for it? Thanks!

Garage Conversion
We are seriously considering converting our integral garage into an extra living area. We have a huge shed which can store all our odd bits so we're just not using the garage. The garage currently has a double skinned external wall and already has a bedroom extension above so the footings are good. There is electric,…

Double Glazing - condensation or leak?
One of my double glazed windows in the front room has water around the frames. I am not sure if it is condensation or rainwater. The window has a small ledge overhanging it on the outside so not sure if it is rain. When I open the window there is water collected at the bottom and top of the frame around the outside of the…

Dealing with rust damaged concrete
I've got a downstairs bay window which is made from reinforced concrete pillars, lintels and sills. At the bottom of one of the pillers the concrete has been blown (for about 5 inches up the pillar) - the reinfocring rod has rusted and cracked off the concrete. I couple of pieces have completely come off and there are…

Advice about roof
If anyone can give me some advice about this I would be most appreciative. Although our roof tiles are fine, the kind of lining that lies underneath them is ripped and has holes in it. I'm guessing this is why our loft seems slightly damp. Is there a way to patch this up or do we need to get some roofing people in to sort…

Triton T801 electric shower not working
My old Triton T80i just stopped working. There is power to the isolating switch but no light on the shower nor water. I found an old post on the forum which mentioned a 'solenoid' or 'water inlet filter' as likely cause. Can I investigate these in the unit, how do I do this and what should I look for? If this fails, should…

Cooker Wiring (again)
I’ve found several posts concerning wiring in a new electric oven but I would be obliged if anybody can help with this particular problem. My old oven was rated at 2.5kw and it had been wired via a standard 13 amp plug and double socket behind the oven to a cooker circuit that was protected by a 32 amp MCB. The other…

Cine to DVD
For Christmas I converted 40 year old cine film to DVD by projecting onto the wall and recording with a camcorder. My parents and siblings were delighted with the chrismas surprise but the quality could have better as the pic kept going in and out of focus. I assume this is to do with the camcorder readjusting to the…

Rechargeable iron, any good?
I need to get a new iron, and thought that a rechargeable iron, with no lead to catch in the ironing, would be a good idea. They also seem cheap, £20 - £30. Does anyone have any experience with these, and would they recommend one?
