Hotpoint Wahing Machine problem

Hello
I have a Hotpoint washer dryer which after a cycle is leaving clear water in the fabric softener compartment. The manual suggests to check there are no kinks in the water inlet hose, which seems to be ok, it runs through the cupboard under the sink so I can see its ok.
Any suggestions? Its a pain having to take the drawer out to empty the water after each cycle.
Thanks in advance

if so prob best just to change the valve.Get some gorm.0 -
My thoughts - you have CLEAR water at the end of the cycle - which, if you consider the last spin in a wash cycle, should be the water you get from the spin. It may, & I stress only MAY, be that the drain from the washing m/c is not entirely clear and backing-up is causing the water in the tray.
Does it happen when you run it empty?
Have you checked the outlet - ours blocks every 15 or so months and we have dropped to one tablet per wash due to the outlet blocking up and needing unblocking.
Just a thought.Yorkie

Thanks for the replies.
I used a Hotpoint cleaning tablet a few days ago, and no, there was no water after that cycle, so its just when I wash clothes in it.
Blockage wise...this is just a case of clearing the hose and nothing to do with the machine right?0 -
Hi Princess,
It will be the syphon at the back of the softener that's gunged up most likely, it's a very common problem and I wrote a piece here in this article which should explain it... I hope.
