Immersion Heater Timers - recommendations?
Thinking of installing one to be a bit more efficient, often we accidentally leave it on for several hours, no doubt bumping up our electric bill in the summer. Requirement is a digital timer, with at 30 to 60 min boost function, and perhaps also a recurring timer, that you can disable in the winter when the central…

Waterslide Transfers What A Disaster
A few months ago I put waterslide transfers on my bathroom tiles to hide marks which had been made by various things like a handle for holding on to, a corner shelf etc. They looked absolutely brilliant. However, I had to put some of them where the bath is and after having a bath they started to peel off. Also when I had a…

Restoring Marble fireplace
I moved into a flat which has a few original fireplaces. The main one is black marble, but there's some streaks over it. I guess someone in the past has used an unsuitable cleaner on it which has stained the marble. Does anyone know any products which might restore the marble and remove these streaks? Thanks very much!

Damp-proofing Basement : Any Experts out there ?
Hello. Recommendations for the following : Basement flat ( 50% at front 100% at rear, below ground level ) with history of serious damp. no room thermostat??
Hi all. Just moved into our 3 bed semi last week, tried the boiler out and discovered the thermostat in the dining room isn't wired in at all. The wires seem to terminate next to the boiler instead of going into it. Not sure why they didn't wire this in?? It's basically TRVs on every radiator and a mechanical timer switch…
