onthemarket out to lunch?
My EA is using Right Move and onthemarket to sell properties. However, I am wondering if the lack of a listing on Zoopla (and by extension Prime Location) is causing the number of viewings on our property to fall drastically. Despite having a good property in a VERY desirable area where few houses come up for sale, we are…

Hello All,:j:j:j I am looking to buy a property in Auction next week and did ask a local solicitor to check the documents and he pointed out that there is a potential issue with the property's title deed paper work. Solid wall a reason not to buy?
I am jumping the gun a bit here as our survey is not until next week, and I might get some answers then, but it's going round and round in my head! We're FTBers buying a mid terrace which the vendor says he *thinks* is about 100 years old. From what I can tell it seems to be in generally good condition (I just need to…

What to do
Hi there I'm after some thoughts/advice if anybody can help. I have a small house up north, but have sadly had to leave it. I now live in the south east for work. The house has no mortgage on it anymore and is empty as it is not in a fit state to rent out. I've been deliberating what to do with it - I had been wondering if…

Flat not selling and having been reduced in price - right to be suspicious?
I'm looking at a flat for sale at £115,000 - I haven't yet visited the place, just seen it online (it's not in London, where I live at the moment, so will require a trip to see it). The asking price has been reduced steadily from £130,000 since it was first listed, in mid-2014. Should alarm bells be ringing for me that it…

What happens if need to switch residential to buy-to-let early in a fixed mortgage?
Hi, looking for some advice please. Our mortgage fixed rate period has finished and we want to find another - ideally for 3 or 5 years seeing as interest rates are low now. The problem is that in the 12-18 months time we're likely to have to move areas. We don't want to sell our current property, because we may not have to…

stamp duty and shared ownership
How do I find out if a market value election was made for stamp duty on purchasing a shared ownership property? It was 5 years ago so don't really want to go back to the solicitor now. Can I write to HMRC or will the land registry be able to tell me? Nothing in my paper work except a note to sign the SDLT form and post it.
