First time snagging any help

I'm in process of buying a new build which is completed and am due to go round with the site Forman to complete the snagging in next couple of weeks.

Now we have sunk every penny into the deposit and fees for buying the house so even though I think it is very useful to employ a professional snagging company I just don't have the funds available to complete the process.

So I am hoping I can get some help and or if someone has a spare guide on what I should be doing/looking out for

For example
1 I noticed the silicone sealent round the taps is yellow, is that something that can be pointed out and changed ?

2 arround the bath the plastic has been cut to fit around the pipe casing but it's not done to a great standard

3 I notice the toilet sistern is not flush to the wall

4 around the skirting where they have painted there are cracks

Now is this just me nit picking or are these things I should be pointing out ?

Thanks in advance this is my first house so am very unsure

All of those things sound like snags that you'd identify during snagging.

I'd pay particular attention to the cistern - has it been fixed to the wall at all?

I'm just wondering what sort of cowboy plumber can't fit a cistern flush to a wall....it's not exactly a difficult task.

A website called brand-newhomes is worth a check up if you're buying new build.

Lots of info there. Check the snagging and quality tab on main page.

You can point out anything whatsoever you are not happy with whether it's a legitimate snag or not. Some things may look the way they do because they are waiting to be finished even though the house is "completed". For example the hole in the bath's surround might be waiting for a fitment to tidy it up and the sealant around the taps might have been yellow because it's still curing and will lighten as it matures (though I admit this is unlikely).

There is every chance that most of the things you've seen before will have been put right.

This doesn't sound right? You don't normally see silicone sealant around taps (unless you mean between the wall and the sink/bath. Taps can sometimes be bedded using a putty which can be a bit off-white in colour, but you wouldn't normally be able to see any of it around the tap if the plumber has done a tidy job.
