Joint Tenancy’s – How to end?
As there have been a number of threads alluding to this point in the past week, rather than hijack the threads in question, I have started this thread to discuss the following question: Is it possible for a single tenant (call them tenant A), in a Joint Tenancy, to unilateral end the tenancy by serving notice during the…

About to move into first flat - couple of questions
My girlfriend and I are about to move into our first leased flat together, previously I've only lived with parents or as a lodger with bills inclusive of rent. If I rented all but one bedroom of a house out the person(s) would then be a lodger rather than a tenant? EDIT: Nope, I know realize it would still be a tenancy The reason I would like to know is that in a few years we are think of spending the winters in Spain and for the following reasons would prefer our house rented:…

Instruct Solicitors or wait for survey to be done,
We have had offer accepted on selling and buying house a week ago. Should we wait until the mortgage is in place from buyer and survey is done on the house we are selling BEFORE we instruct Solicitors ? Don’t want Solicitors to start doing work and charging us if buyer pulls out with not getting a mortgage or survey issue.

Downstairs Bathroom.
Why so bad? Caught bit of some property program on the idiotbox last night and they were being really derogatory about a house because it had a downstairs bathroom. Made out it could be a deal breaker. Suggested ditching one of the three bedrooms and converting it to an upstairs bathroom. So what's the big deal? Is it…
