However we got a wonderful surprise, just after the purchase she became pregnant, so we changed…

I have a fantastic opportunity to buy property abroad (Greece). This is a fire-sale. Renting - advise please
Hi, I am in a 6 months AST. Which ends in June. The landlord 'had' sold the house and asked me if I would move early so he didn't lose his sale. I have found a new place and am moving next week. The landlord's sale has now fallen through and he's said I can stay. After a lot of thought I've decided to still move because…

Help! Landlord witholding part of deposit...
Hi all, Hope you can help and sorry if this is a long one, I'll try to keep it brief. Essentially, I have just moved out of a property. Before I (and my other flatmate moved in) the two tenants (out of 3) we replaced trashed the hall carpets - few oil stains/cigarette burns etc. Naively, when I signed the tenancy…

survey found asbestos: cost to remove?
Our survey said the ceiling boards in the integral garage may be asbestos insulation board. We may one day want to convert the garage, including knocking a door through to the house and I'm worried that if we have to remove them it will be too expensive. Does anyone have any idea what this removal might cost?

Building regulations and non-compliance
We've had a loft extension and everything was fine until the building control comes around and says that for a protected fire exit, we now have to put in a wall downstairs to separate the entrance hall and stairs from our beautiful big living room, taking a lot of space away. Ouch. The builder has suggested we could simply…

I know their house address but there a site that will list…

Do quality applicances help sell a kictchen?
We're doing up our kitchen and while our house is our home we hope to sell on in a couple of year's time and so every decision we're making is with a view to selling (in a possibly flat market). Would cheaper appliances (ie ikea, hotpoint etc) put you off making an offer or attract you to a property, or maybe result in…

House selling quandary
We have a small 2 bed house which we bought a couple of years ago, on which the fixed rate is about to expire and which we have put on the market. Since buying it we have had a baby (unplanned but not unwanted!) and my partner has stayed home to care for him. So we've lost his annual earnings of around £15k. I currently…
